Under normal circumstances, the deformation wheels hub is caused by the strong external force impact on the wheel hub due to careless driving. Although the merchant has a way to repair the deformed hub, it is not recommended for the owner to repair it. If the car wheel is repaired, some hidden damages are invisible. Don’t bury hidden safety hazards. It is recommended to replace it with a new one.

The first step is to detect the deformation position. First, find the deformation position of the wheel hub. The master installs the wheel hub on the self-made fixture and uses the dial indicator to find the deformation position for calibration.

The second step, heating. Use a blowtorch to locally heat the deformed wheels’ position. The small red dot on the wheel hub is an infrared thermometer, and the heating can be stopped after reaching a certain temperature.

The third step, correction. After reaching a certain temperature, the hub becomes soft, and a small hydraulic top is used for a repeated slight correction. Finally, meet reasonable standards.

The whole process seems to have no problems, but in fact, the problem has already appeared!

Many people know that the material of the wheel hub is aluminum alloy, and the metal fatigue resistance of the material itself is relatively poor. After being deformed by an external force, it is forcibly restored to its original state by an external force, even if there are small cracks on the surface that cannot be observed by the naked eye, from a scientific point of view. In other words, the metal structure here is completely different from the metal structure of normal wheels.

Does Hub Repair Affect the Hub?

 Hub repair refers to repairing the scratch of an automobile hub. Common hub damages are basically scratched and scratches on the hub. Repairs only deal with the surface of the hub. After the repair, it basically does not affect the main force structure of the hub and has little impact on the reliability and safety of the hub. , If the hub is too damaged, it is not recommended to repair it.

Regarding the effect of the deformation of the wheel on the car, we must first know that the wheel is made of aluminum alloy. As a kind of metal, metal fatigue will happen. If it is repaired or replaced in time after it is deformed, the wheel hub is not very likely broken directly due to hitting an obstacle during driving, which is very dangerous.

Aluminum alloy is a metal substance. Although a wire can be restored to a straight line after being bent, it will be broken after two or three attempts, not to mention such a large hub. If the hub is forcibly restored to wheel CNC Machine original shape, although it looks the same as the new one on the outside, its internal organization is already very fragile. In addition, if the repaired position is hit again during driving, the hub will directly break and cause serious damage.

The repair method is to pad the recessed area with a sponge, cloth, etc., and then use a hammer to vigorously flatten the recessed area. The dents after smashing will definitely be very uneven. You can use putty, which is commonly known as putty, which is used for leveling when the sheet metal is sprayed. It is used on the hub to round out and will be uneven. After the position is repaired and leveled, the inside of the hub is roughened with sandpaper to prepare for the next painting.

The firs step is to put the putty in the sun and let the putty dry. The next step is the same as spraying the car. Because the original wheel is the color of the aluminum alloy itself, which can’t be achieved by any paint, it can only be sprayed as a whole. Please use automatic spray paint close to the original color of the hub to paint all the inside of the hub. After the paint is dry, a “new” hub is born. Because of the side effects mentioned above, professional masters usually do not recommend repairing. It is safer to replace it directly with a new one.

How effective is nitrogen filling compared to air?

1.The actual effect of nitrogen charging in private cars is limited. From a theoretical point of view, due to the low content of moisture, oil, and oxygen in nitrogen, it is indeed conducive to the explosion of tires, especially for the high-load tires of trucks, the effect will be more significant. As for ordinary private cars, due to the low unit load of tires, even if they are driven on the hot ground for a long time, the tires will not generate as much heat as F1 racing cars or trucks. Therefore, in theory, the former may be better than the latter, but there is not such a big difference in actual conditions.

2. The noise reduction effect of nitrogen-filled tires is limited. The noise caused by tires has nothing to do with the use of nitrogen and ordinary compressed air. The key to the noise is the quality of the tires. Related experiments have proved that when the car is traveling at speeds of 80 kilometers, 100 kilometers, and 120 kilometers per hour, the noise of nitrogen-filled tires is less than 1 decibel lower than that of air-filled tires, and this difference is almost negligible.

Frequent tire pressure measurement is the key. To ensure the safety of tires when driving in summer, the key is to maintain normal tire pressure. Because the high temperature in summer will cause the tire pressure within the normal range to rise rapidly, or even exceed the critical value, this is the real cause of the puncture. If you want to prevent a puncture in the summer, the best way is to measure the tire pressure frequently and reduce the tire pressure appropriately due to thermal expansion and contraction.
